Eric Song holding two model rockets

Co-Founder & Rocketry Program Lead

Eric Song

Eric leads SEALS Academy's rocketry pathway, connecting CAD and fabrication with model-rocket launches, American Rocketry Challenge preparation, and disciplined flight-data review.

Verified milestone

NAR Level 2 earned through exam, build, and flight.

Eric earned NAR Level 2 High Power Rocketry certification on August 4, 2026. His certification flight used a J-class motor and reached 5,000 ft. Level 2 is his personal adult rocketry credential—not a teaching license or NAR endorsement of SEALS Academy.

How that experience changes the coaching

Students are asked to explain design choices, document assumptions, test against measurable targets, and revise from evidence. Eric's high-power experience strengthens the safety and systems thinking behind that method, while student activities remain appropriate to the published course, age group, launch site, and current supervision plan.

Eric's rocket launch footage

The site uses this footage as evidence of Eric's hands-on launch work. It is not labeled as the Level 2 certification flight unless the exact clip is separately verified.
