3D Printing Mini Rockets

$6006 weeks · 1.5 hrs/class · In-person

Students design their own mini rocket in CAD, 3D-print every component, assemble it, and launch it — twice. This is real rocket engineering, scaled for young learners.

What students learn

Design it. Print it. Launch it.

Rocket design & CAD

Students design their rocket from scratch — nose cone, body tube, fins — using CAD software. Every decision affects how the rocket flies.

3D printing & fabrication

Print each component, learn about material properties, tolerances, and how to assemble parts that need to survive a launch.

Real rocket launches

Two supervised launches during the course. Students prepare their rockets with motors, recover them, and analyze what happened.
